b. 1964

Born in Tasmania, Milojevic gained his degree in printmaking from the Tasmanian School of Art in 1976 where he is currently Senior Lecturer in Charge, Printmaking Studio.

Within his artistic practice he creates imagined landscapes in which bizarre, hybrid creatures dwell.  These new and strange species are developed from a conceptual idea that articulates Milojevic’s own position in the world – belonging to different cultures (although he was born in Tasmania, he is of Yugoslav and German descent).  The artist takes inspiration from 18th century illustrations documenting newly discovered fauna and flora and terra incognita.

Milojevic has been in receipt of numerous awards and grants.  His recent exhibitions include Other Worlds and Curiosities, 2011 James Makin Gallery, Melbourne and   Islandia, 2011 Coleville Gallery, Tasmania
