Malcom McCoig studied design at Glasgow School of Art. This education led him into a career in the arts industry, becoming a lecturer in Design at Gray’s School of Art for around 30 years. McCoig remained an engaged figure in the creative community within Aberdeen, sitting as both Chairman of Peacock Printmakers (now Peacock Visual Arts) and Grampian Hospitals Art Trust – as well as continuing his own practice as an artist-designer.
McCoig’s work is found in many national collections, such as the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art, Hunterian Museum and Art Gallery and Aberdeen Art Gallery.
