Antenna Yagi’s Fracture Radio brings together the distinct practices of Kevin Andrew Morris and Mark Lyken, incorporating found electronics, discrete sounds and ceramics. The abstracted forms, language and sounds presented are re-interpretations of collected objects including published designs from Morris’s father, an electronics engineer with a background in radio and instrumentation. Recognisable forms and sounds are repeated and contrasted with unfamiliar, abstracted elements, providing the viewer with clues as to an original purpose, gradually obscured and replaced through reproduction and re-appropriation. Hiding in plain sight, objects and sound quietly converse while referencing the hospital environment subtly in material choice and finish.
