GHAT Collection Thank You and Opportunities

GHAT Collection Thank You and Opportunities

We would like to warmly thank all our volunteers who have helped us in 2024. Farah and Laura will continue to help us update our records in the coming year. Rosie and Nicole remain busy writing biographies about the artists in the GHAT Collection.

These biographies will all be available on the GHAT website at:

Thank you also to Daniel for helping us with installs and art store maintenance!

Installs & Exhibitions

The Collection team has undertaken 15 installs across NHS Grampian – including at Dr. Gray’s, The Health Village, and Royal Cornhill Hospital. Working with NHS Grampian staff has been a pleasure, and we look forward to continued collaboration in the year to come.

In August, there was a GHAT Collection exhibition at The Music Hall on Union Street, which ran for three months. The team extends a great thanks to Aberdeen Performing Arts for supporting the exhibition and making it a success!

Toward the end of 2024, GHAT was delighted to receive funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund and Creative Scotland. This will support a two-year project called Sustain:Engage, that will allow us to champion the development and promotion of best practice in art collections in healthcare settings.

As part of this project, the Collection team will be engaging local and rural communities to improve interpretation. This will include new audio descriptions, updated artwork labels, and Doric interpretation.

Additionally, there will be micro-commissions for artists in the North East, and opportunities for new graduates to curate rural NHS Grampian venues.

Keep your eyes peeled for new developments and opportunities!
