Name/TitleFindlater Castle

About this object"Frances Walker’s work conveys folkloric imagery, its dark and atmospheric colours allow audiences to get lost in the piece. Findlater castle is a prominent structure along the north coast, it is the perfect location for a piece that connects folklore, environment and sustainability.

Scottish folk imagery is intertwined with the local environment, this piece specifically can help us conjure stories of selkies, kelpies and Ceasg. While the castle itself also allows us to see the impact of changing sea levels and land erosion due to climate change. These locations need to be valued, looked after and appreciated before they are lost altogether due to environmental changes."
