Two commissions available to develop a sustainable arts and well-being model in rural areas.
Co-create – an inclusive arts and well-being initiative designed with the community it serves.
Co-Create is a project to support well-being for people within Huntly and the surrounding area through creative activity. This six-month consultation phase is to research and develop a sustainable arts and wellbeing model in rural areas and show the evidence which will result in access to arts activity for many years to come.
A key component of the delivery structure will be local hospitals which are at the heart of the community and accessed by everyone in the local area. However, there is also potential to have satellite creativity venues such as GP premises or local care homes or even fully remote consultations. The delivery model will be designed and driven by the community need and partnership working.
The project will be delivered in partnership with Jubilee Hospital and Networks of Wellbeing. This consultation will begin the process of designing this kind of support for the people in a rural town by joining together the arts and health knowledge of Grampian Hospitals Art Trust, NHS Grampian and the community-building skills of Networks of Wellbeing.
Two artists will be commissioned to work on this project, who will work out of Jubilee Hospital, Huntly. One with a research-based practice, and one with a socially engaged/participatory practice.
Project Duration: December 2022- June 2023
