We’ve been brightening up the Collection with some new pieces of artwork!
The Collection had some funding to be used specifically for art purchasing from Arts & Business Scotland and we decided to buy pieces from the Gray’s School of Art 2023 Degree Show and from artists that had previously exhibited at GHAT.
Our purchases include work from Moray-based artist Kayleigh Kellas and Aberdeenshire artist Joey Sim, both recent graduates from Moray School of Art and Grays School of Art respectively. Both artists works were included in the recent exhibition ‘Sown’. We also bought a piece from artist Thomas Cameron, who had a solo show with GHAT in 2018 which featured paintings from Aberdeen’s Winter Gardens, which the new acquisition was originally part of.
The piece we bought from the Degree Show was a beautiful blue and green print of a vase by artist Theda Wahl. She came to the Store to visit us and to see our collection and was mesmerised by it all.
Theda couldn’t hide her delight at her artwork being part of our Collection and sharing the same space as work by Ade Adesina, Frances Walker and Joe Fan amongst many others.

All these artworks are available for selection by NHSG staff for departments, wards and offices across the Grampian region.
