Ross Ryan grew up in the small fishing village of Crinan on Scotland’s west coast.

In 1997 he graduated from Gray’s School of Art in Aberdeen.

Since then he has travelled widely, adapting his work to suit the various and often complex environments.   Although a landscape painter, the human presence within a place is essential to Ryan’s work; his travel sketches and diaries form an invaluable part of his creative process.
