Rosemary Taylor

This series of work comes from my long held interest in industrial and architectural themes. I spend a lot of time exploring man-made structures and environments and the endless change, repair and rebuilding give rise to numerous areas of exploration.

Using newspaper and collage as a foundation I then add objects found at the various sites I visit - card, plastic or metal. I use lettering, words and phrases as a support for the drawing which is the most important part of my work.

The combination of drawing and texture in these works is used to emphasise the constant change in landscape and the connections and tensions between people and industry - past, present and future.
