Paint by Numbers
Colour is controversial. Shunned from our lives through the cold white minimalist period for too long, colour is now making a welcomed resurrection.
From natural colours to man-made, there are countless variations of awe inspiring colour to choose from. Engage with any colour and you can be seduced into a variety of reactions and emotions.
In this exhibition Katie Guthrie, Martin McKenna and Sarah Tingle explore the world through colour – or its absence. From bold, vibrant abstracts, to delicately worked studies in white, each artist offers the viewer an individual and distinct view of the world.
Colour is a tool which is used boldly but sensitively to evoke feelings of connection and the varying intensities of the space in which to place marks, text, image, context, wit and whim.
